High Pulse Poker is a very new poker site using it’s own software, trying to make a name for themselves they offer a range of great value tournaments and 50% rakeback to all players. As any experience poker player will tell you a good rakeback deal (especially 50%) is much more valuable than any deposit bonus.

High Pulse Poker operates on it’s own software, meaning it’s not part of a network of sites such as iPoker or Boss Media, as such traffic is much lower than these sites and there is only a few tournaments running each hour. however you will always be able to find a cash game going (either holdem or plo with plo8 coming soon)

The reason I love High Pulse is the software, plain and simple is key here with a very slick interface, emoticons that actually blend in well to the game it all reminds me of Full Tilts rush poker interface.

Please note although High Pulse Poker offers 50% rakeback, you need to reach a certain level of rake until this is applied to your account, the main value of playing at high pulse is the added value tournaments (with overlays) and the amount of fish playing here and lack of cash grinders due to no HUDs currently being supported.

Rumours have been flying round 2+2 as reps have confirmed a few months ago they were working on releasing a public beta by the end of Jan, it looks as though this Beta could be timed to launch with the TCOOP series.

A Full review of Blitz, Rush, Zoom or whatever it will be called will be up as soon as it is launched.

Paddy Power Poker is bough to you by the popular Irish bookies, they have a reputation for fun and somewhat whacky promotional campaigns and TV ads.

Paddy Power Poker offers new players a 100% welcome bonus up to $2000 and runs on the iPoker network, what sets Paddy Power apart from the rest of the pack for casual players is the nice added value tournaments which run every day!

The ‘Paddys Pantdown’ tournament is a twice daily game with a buy of either $1 or $2 with at least $100 added, if you play just two of them during the week you get entered in to a $1000 freeroll on friday. This is fantastic value for those just starting out or with a small bankroll.

Paddy Power also runs a series of Bounty Tournaments with between $50 and $100 added to the head of one of their special players.

Friday also sees a popular Fantastic Fridays tournament, with a $10 buyin and usually $2,000 added making it great value.

Downsides: Support can be a bit on the slow side responding to email, however you don’t get the usual canned responses that many sites send, if your support request is urgent I recommend you use the live support option or give them a call.

Not only that but occasionaly they run tournaments with much larger gurantees which never get met such as their WHOP (William Hill Online Poker) tournament which had a $35 buyin with $50,000 guranteed, only 765 entrants played this tournament which meant an overlay of over $20,000! unlike many other sites William Hill didn’t decide to pull it last minute but it ran on time with the winner taking $6,000 instead of around $3,000 had their been no gurantee!
